A class 10 student committed suicide in Nirmal district of Telangana state, India, on Thursday. The reason was that his parents had taken away his mobile phone. The student was playing the popular online game ‘PUBG’ on that mobile phone.

Government officials said that the name of the schoolboy is Betty Risendra. He used to play PUBG for more than 10 hours a day. Sometimes he even did not want to go to school. Because he did not have time to play PUBG due to his studies. The parents of the student said that they had taken him to a psychologist and a neurologist for counseling. However, his stubbornness did not subside. He even threatened the doctor.

Finally, three days ago, the parents took away the mobile phone from his child. Unable to cope without the game, Risendra committed suicide by hanging himself with a rope.

Recently, many more cases of PUBG addiction have come to light.

Earlier this year, three teenagers were killed after being run over by a train while sitting on the railway tracks in Bihar’s West Champaran district. They were wearing headphones and did not notice the train approaching.

In another incident, a video of a taxi driver in Hyderabad went viral. In the video, he can be seen playing PUBG on his mobile phone while driving. The video was recorded by a passenger sitting in the back seat.

In the video footage, the driver can be seen driving with one hand and playing the game with the phone in the other. Sometimes, he gets busy playing the game with both hands. As a result, he finds it difficult to focus on the road.
